Never Walk Alone
Brothers in Arms is a nonprofit drug recovery and in-house rehabilitation centre based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape, South Africa. Officially launched in December 2023, the centre serves as a beacon of hope for individuals and communities affected by substance abuse.
What sets us apart is our team—primarily composed of individuals in recovery—who bring empathy, understanding, and lived experience to every interaction. We stand by the belief that "Once an addict, always an addict is a lie!" Every day, we witness and celebrate recovery, reinforcing the message: we do recover.
Through sharing personal journeys, fostering peer support, and organizing events like our Fun Day gatherings for our clients, we are building a community of resilience, support, and renewed possibility.

Peer-Led Recovery
We're led by people in recovery themselves, offering guidance grounded in real-world experience and genuine compassion.
Our clients participate in daily, dedicated recovery sessions designed to bring focus, routine, and progress.
We honour every milestone—large or small—with community events reinforcing hope and connection.
Through sharing narratives we foster mutual encouragement and inspiration.
Our motto, "Addicted to Recovery," encapsulates our ethos: recovery is possible, and help is always within reach.
We build a supportive community where no one has to face addiction recovery alone.
6 months sober
"Brothers In Arms gave me more than just a program - they gave me a family. The peer support made all the difference because these people truly understand what I'm going through. Today, I'm proud to say I'm 6 months sober and rebuilding my life."
1 year sober
"After multiple failed attempts at other rehab centers, I found Brothers In Arms. Their approach is different - they celebrate every small victory and make you believe recovery is possible. The structured daily sessions gave me the discipline I needed. I've now been clean for a year and I'm helping others in the program."
Parent of a client
"When my son entered Brothers In Arms, we had lost all hope. But the transformation we've seen is miraculous. The team's lived experience makes them uniquely qualified to help. They've not only helped my son but educated our whole family on how to support his recovery journey."
